Our Team

Mark Rogers

Mark is responsible for company operations and management. He has spent his 25 year career in corporate operations and financing, as a turnaround specialist and as a venture capitalist across many industries. Mark has also completed over $1 billion in investment banking transactions.Prior to Alchemy, Mark co-founded NFT Ventures with Ray Noorda, founder of Novell, Inc. NFT Ventures was a private equity firm that invested in and raised capital for over 30 transactions. He was responsible for helping to build many successful companies from raw start-ups to public companies. Mark began his career at Ernst & Young in New York where he focused on M & A transactions as well as a member of the audit group for financial services firms.

Mark received his BBA from Pace University in New York.

Steve Hotovec Steve Hotovec

Steve is responsible for corporate development and trading infrastructure. He has 19 years of investment experience specializing in alternative investments for the last seven. Steve co-founded Hotovec, Pomeranz & Co., a boutique technology research firm and investment bank and brokerage firm. He was responsible for all aspects of investment banking for the firm including the sourcing, due diligence, and funding of the transactions. Immediately prior to forming Alchemy Ventures, Steve specialized in raising capital on behalf of select single strategy hedge funds, proprietary traders, and fund of hedge funds.

Steve earned a B.A. in finance from San Diego State University.

Hong Jin, CPA

Hong is responsible for portfolio accounting and financial operations. She has spent her 15 year career in accounting and financial operations. Prior to Alchemy, she was the head of finance and operations at Proteus Biomedical. She was also the director of financial planning at SYNARC Inc. where she developed and wrote the entire accounting policy and procedure manual. Hong began her career at Price Water House Coopers in Boston. Hong received her CPA designation in 1992.

Hong earned a Masters degree in Accountancy from Bentley College.

Cory Sterling

Cory has over ten years of experience in the financial markets and is primarily responsible for manager selection and risk management. He began as an independent equities trader and later moved into futures and options. His firsthand experience with both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of money management proves extremely valuable when analyzing strategies and managers.

Cory earned a BS in Managerial Economics from UC Davis.

Shaun Gee Shaun Gee

Shaun has six years of alternative investment experience and is responsible for manager research, modeling and due diligence. After beginning his career in biotechnology, he transitioned into finance as a VP of Institutional Sales for Keating Investments. Immediately prior to Alchemy, he focused on operations and business development for a diversified futures trading firm.

Shaun earned a BA in biochemistry and molecular biology from Dartmouth College.
